Dear Prayer Partners,

Thank you for praying for the Lost Sheep of rural Mexico. Much has transpired since our last communication and the Lord has been very active in our people segment. In March of this year (2008) we began a new phase of our work/lives here in Mexico. While we have had you praying for the rural communities of Querétaro, the prayer need has expanded. We need you to begin to pray for other Mexican states also that they will be reached with the gospel of Jesus Christ. These states include: Sonora, Sinaloa, Chihuahua, Durango, Zacatecas, Nayarit, Aguascalientes, Jalisco, Michoacán, Guanajuato, Mexico, San Luis Potosí, Hidalgo, Morelos, Guerrero, Colima, Tamaulipas, Querétaro, and Coahuila. The segment that we are responsible for are cities less than 500,000 population and all rural communities. This segment will total around 40 million in population all less than 2% evangelized. Pray biblically and ask the Lord of the Harvest to send more workers into His harvest field. Do you know anyone whom the Lord is calling to serve on the international mission field?

I am going to update you on the church planting work in Querétaro also. A few weeks ago a group of faithful workers came from Brownsburg, Indiana and worked for a week along side of our Mexican team in San Juan del Rio, Querétaro. One of the events took place in a community called Nogales. We have tried to open works in this community in the past but have not been successful. The volunteers from Indiana shared tracts and witnessed in the community. One team member worked as a doctor in a clinic to check glucose levels and also blood pressure. Several professions of faith were made and the community will have their first Baptist church by next month. Please continue to pray for Nogales.

Last week a group from Crockett, Texas came and also worked with our Mexican members and we entered a community called Loma Linda to start a new Baptist church there. The event took place in a salon that the community leaders rented to us for about $10 a day. In this event we witnessed door-to-door, offered free haircuts, counseled with troubled families, fed several from the community that would not have had any food that day, showed movies, and had activities for the entire family. Each day we had rain and I believed that the community would not respond well during rainy days, but I was wrong and I am thankful for the long tiring hours that the Texans and the Querétaro para Cristo team invested in this community. The community representative that we rented the salon from said that no one had ever impacted a community like the team had last week. Please pray for Loma Linda. Specifically pray for the new church plant there that they would not fear persecution from the community and boldly witness to their neighbors. Many of the new believers in Loma Linda are low literacy level so please pray for Antonio and his team as they teach chronological bible storying in Loma Linda.

We have also had two different Baptismal services in the month of June. Six of our disciples were baptized and we rejoice with them. For those of you who have worked here with us you may remember some of the newly baptized believers, Betty and Margarita from Aquiles Serdan, Maricruz, Cecelia, Jessi and Jairo, from La Roca. In September we have two more baptismal services scheduled.

Why do we do what we do? Three weeks ago we received a call from one of our believers in Aquiles Serdan named Ismael. His mother had died during the previous night and he asked if we would come to the funeral service that would be in one hour. We agreed to come and share with the people at the funeral about Ismael’s mother as she was a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. All of Ismael’s brothers and sisters were from the national church and they do not believe in Jesus as their only Lord and Savior. As we shared and looked into eyes of hopelessness the Lord gave us great peace that He was in control. We sowed seeds of the gospel into people who had never heard the true story of Jesus. We haven’t seen the harvest yet from this simple event but we continue to pray for the Queretanos to come to faith is Jesus as their only Lord and Savior. That’s why we do what we do, so every Mexican man, woman, and child will have the opportunity to hear the true story of Jesus Christ.

God bless and thank you for your faithful support of International Missions.

Rich & Jody
